When I started my last blog, Embracing Gluten-Free, it was born out of my desire to help others enjoy a gluten-free lifestyle. When I made the decision to go gluten-free, I experienced days that I was devastated and so sad that I wasn’t going to be able to enjoy so many of my favorite foods. But, what made me quickly get over being sad and disappointed to feeling hopeful and back in control with my food was knowing someone who had already been down the same path. I was beyond blessed to be able to spend time with my friend, Beth, (almost an entire day!) to learn the ins and outs of gluten-free flours, baking and cooking and best of all, eating – and her food was delicious!
Beth introduced me to what is now my FAVORITE gluten-free baking cookbook. Gluten-Free Baking Classics by Annalise Roberts is a MUST if you are looking for gluten-free baked goods that taste like your favorite wheat recipes! Not only is Annalise an amazing cook, baker and recipe maker (ha!), she’s a very sweet lady. I have enjoyed exchanging emails with her and had the pleasure of chatting with her on the phone to ask her questions and have her convert one of my favorite Fall recipes, pumpkin bars, to gluten-free. Yum!
The recipes in her cookbook have made me feel like a rock star in the kitchen on more than one occasion. We’re talking people who can eat “regular” baked goods calling my gluten-free baked goods the best they have ever had. I regularly shout, “Thank you, Annalise!” from my kitchen when we are all enjoying one of her amazing recipes.
The cookbook is informative and very helpful to a newbie to gluten-free baking. If you are in the same place that I was – confused, discouraged and not sure where to start, can I encourage you to get a copy of Gluten-Free Baking Classics and give Annalise’s recipes a try? I promise you won’t be disappointed! Also, I have links to both of Annalise’s blogs on the right side of my page: My Gluten-Free Table and The Food Philosopher. Let me know if you have any questions that I can try to help you with!
